The New Jersey Division on Civil Rights (DCR) is inviting youths, between the ages of 13-19, to apply to the 2023-24 Youth Ambassador Program. Applications are due by Friday, September 15, 2023.
DCR’s Youth Ambassador Program offers mentorship, education, and leadership opportunities to encourage students to act as community change agents through education on the Law Against Discrimination and will develop a rich understanding of civil rights.
The program is open to all New Jersey youths, ages 13 to 19, interested in exploring civil rights issues. Up to 50 youth ambassadors will be admitted to the program. Applicants must be interested in civil rights, passionate about making a positive change at the community level, interested in personal and leadership development, and available to attend bi-monthly meetings on Mondays at 6:00 p.m. The program will run from October to June. Monthly virtually meetings and last 60-90 minutes.
