Born and raised in Brussels, Anaïs Maes lives at ‘De Wand’ in Laeken. She holds a PhD in history and was a teacher at the GO! Atheneum Etterbeek. She was also a researcher and visiting professor at the History Department of the ‘Vrije Universiteit Brussel’ (VUB). She was also committed in her school as a trade union delegate of the ACOD.
Anaïs, who is the daughter of a Dutch-speaking father and a French-speaking mother, is perfectly bilingual. She is married and has a daughter. Between 2005 and 2008, she was a presenter for the then city radio FM Brussel and for TV Brussel (now BRUZZ).
